TRAILS WEST MANUFACTURING OF IDAHO INC., BOX 67, PRESTON, IDAHO 83263

COVERAGE PROVIDED

The structure of your new Trails West RPM trailer is warranted under normal use and service, ordinary wear and tear excepted, to be free from manufacturing defects in material or workmanship for three years.

Your new Trails West RPM trailer, including the electrical systems, paint, and trim is warranted under normal use and service, ordinary wear and tear excepted, to be free from manufacturing defects in material or workmanship for three years.

The warranty extends to the first retail purchaser and begins on the date of purchase.  Trailers covered by this warranty are designed to be pulled by trucks with a GVWR rating of 20,000 lbs or less.  Pulling with larger trucks that are not equipped with a properly adjusted air ride suspension will void this warranty. If any Trails West product is used commercially for such purposes as rental or other income-producing activities, then this warranty is limited to 90 days, including structure as well as electrical systems, paint, and trim, from the date it was purchased.  Written notice of defects must be given to the selling dealer or the manufacturer no later than ten days after the expiration of the warranty.

OWNER'S OBLIGATION

The owner is responsible for normal maintenance to tires (inflation), wheel bearings, brakes, jacks, couplers, hinges, and paint.  If a problem occurs which the owner believes is covered by this warranty, the owner shall contact the selling dealer giving him sufficient information to resolve the matter.  The owner shall deliver the trailer at his expense to the selling dealer or manufacturer for warranty service.

DEALER'S OBLIGATIONS

By agreement with the manufacturer, the dealer is obligated to maintain the trailer prior to retail sale, to perform a detailed pre-delivery inspection, and to repair or replace any parts necessary to correct defects in material or workmanship.  In addition, when warranty service is required, a warranty claim must be filled out and a factory authorization number assigned before any repairs are initiated.  The dealer will authorize warranty repairs and, in most cases, will either perform the needed work or make arrangements for it to be done by an authorized shop.  Any work done prior to authorization will be subject to review and may not be reimbursed.

IF THE DEALER DOES NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM

If the dealer is unable or unwilling to resolve a problem which the owner is convinced is covered by the warranty, he should contact Trails West Manufacturing and provide the manufacturer with a description in writing of the problem and attempts made to resolve it.  Pictures should also be included if applicable.  Upon receipt of notice of a claim, where the dealer was unable or unwilling to resolve a verified warranty problem, the manufacturer will repair or replace any parts necessary to correct defects in material or workmanship or will take other appropriate action that may be required.

Trails West may, at its option, elect to do necessary warranty repairs at the factory.  In such event, the customer will deliver the trailer to the selling dealer for pickup and delivery to the factory.  When repairs are completed, the trailer will be returned to the selling dealer for pickup by the customer.  The trailer will either be hauled or towed to and from the factory. The method of transport will be at the factory's discretion.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY

THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER:

1. Any product not manufactured by Trails West Manufacturing of Idaho, Inc., including but not limited to tires, axles and brake components, couplers, jacks, windows, battery, and other components, which are covered by the separate warranties of the respective manufacturers of these components.  To the extent that these parts are warranted, Trails West if possible, will furnish the manufacturer's warranty documents to the original owner.

2. Defects caused by or related to:

a. Abuse, misuse, negligence, or accident.

b. Failure to comply with instructions contained in  the warranty packet.

c. Alteration or modification of the trailer.

d. Environmental conditions (salt, hail, chemicals in the atmosphere, etc.)

3. Normal deterioration due to wear or exposure, such as  fading, rock chips, etc.

4. Normal maintenance and service items.

5. Tire failure due to running the tires above or below the recommended tire pressure.  This recommendation can be found on the Tire and Loading information placard located on the left side of the trailer near the vehicle identification tag and is referred to as “cold tire pressure”.  Cold tire pressure can only be measured when your trailer has been sitting for a minimum of 3 hours because tires warm up as they are used.

5. Required:*

6. Wheel or hub failure due to improper torque of lug nuts. Lug nuts on new wheels may loosen.  After the first 10, 25, and 50 miles of road service, lug nuts on all wheel types should be re-torqued to 120 ft. lbs  Regardless of wheel type or axle size, all lug nuts should be re-torqued periodically thereafter.

6. Required:*

7. Leakage in stock compartments.

8. Transportation to and from the selling dealer, loss of time, inconvenience, commercial loss, loss of use, towing charges, transportation fares. Incidental charges such as telephone calls or hotel bills or other incidental or consequential damages.

9. The use of or rental of a trailer during the time the customer's trailer is being repaired.

10. Warranty repair does not constitute a renewal of the warranty period.

Trails West warrants its paint finish to be at or above a quality level consistent with industry standards.  If you believe you have a warrantable paint problem, follow the procedure described above. Isolated paint failures do not constitute a need for a total repaint.  Spot repairs and blends are consistent with standards in the automobile industry and apply to the trailer industry as well. Should warrantable paint repairs be necessary, damaged areas may be repaired concurrently at the election of the customer.  However, such repairs will be at the customer's expense and identified and agreed to prior to commencement of warranty repairs.

Trails West Mfg. Inc. excludes any warranty or liability for cosmetic variations which fall within industry standards.  An example would be cracked caulking. Paint failure as a result of neglect or misuse will not be covered by warranty.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.

THE MANUFACTURER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY UNDERTAKING, REPRESENTATION OR WARRANTY MADE BY ANY DEALER OR OTHER PERSON BEYOND THOSE EXPRESSLY SET FORTH IN THIS WARRANTY.
