A Testimonial That Says It All

A Testimonial That Says It All

When you haul horses, every trip comes with an incredible responsibility. We spend countless hours making sure our horses are healthy, comfortable, and ready for the road. But sometimes, despite our best efforts, the unexpected happens.

A Trails West owner recently reached out to share a story that reminds us why quality and craftsmanship matter long before an accident ever occurs.

A Day That Changed Everything

The day before the accident, everything had gone as planned. She had used her Trails West trailer to attend a horse show without issue.

The following day, her truck was having mechanical problems, so she and a friend decided to use a different truck to attend a charity trail ride. Her friend arrived first, hooked up the trailer, and pulled it around before they headed out.

About 15 minutes into the drive, after crossing a small bridge, disaster struck.

The trailer had been connected using the wrong size hitch ball. The coupler separated, and the trailer left the roadway, rolling down a hillside with both horses still inside. In those terrifying moments, nothing else mattered except the horses.

Remarkably, They Walked Away

One horse suffered a fracture that healed on its own.

The other horse, who landed on top of his companion during the rollover, needed only a few stitches in his nostril along with minor scrapes.

Considering the severity of the accident, the outcome was nothing short of remarkable. The owner admits much of the accident is a blur.

“I 100000% attribute the quality of these trailers to saving my horse’s life and leaving him relatively unscathed.”

Built For Moments You Never Plan For

No trailer can prevent every accident.

But how a trailer is engineered, welded, and built can make an enormous difference when the unexpected happens.

At Trails West, every trailer is designed with strength, structural integrity, and the safety of your horses in mind. It’s a commitment that exists for every mile you travel—not just the easy ones.

Stories like this remind us that the investment you’re making isn’t simply in a trailer. You’re investing in the protection of your horses, your family, and the memories you’re making together.

Loyalty Earned Through Experience

It’s been a couple of years since the accident.

The owner hasn’t replaced her trailer yet—but not because she wants something different.

In fact, it’s quite the opposite.

I’ve been without a trailer simply because I can’t entertain the thought of owning anything BUT a Trails West.

She went on to say:

This was my first trailer and the one I learned to drive with. I won’t even consider another brand or dealer.

There is no greater compliment than hearing from someone who has experienced firsthand what quality can mean in the worst possible circumstances.
